Software

This page contains links to some programs I have written for research and teaching, and also links to programs that others have written that I find useful in my courses or just plain interesting.

Ken Monks's Software

I revise this software periodically, so check here once in a while for the latest versions.

        Maple software

        Maple Classroom Demos

  • Maple does Geometry - a short worksheet demonstrating some of the uses of Maple in an undergraduate course in geometry.
  • Maple does Modern Algebra - a short worksheet demonstrating some of the uses of Maple in a first course in Modern Algebra.
  • Maple does Calculus - classroom demonstrations an for a second semester course in Buisness Calculus
  • RevSolid - makes animated plots of solids of revolution for use in calculus lectures

        Software for the TI-85 calculator

  • Chaos85 - A program for the TI-85 calculator which computes orbits and does graphical analysis for use in a course on chaos and fractals..
  • Bifurcate85 - A tiny program for the TI-85 which draws the bifurcation (orbit) diagram for the quadratic family of maps (Qc(x)=x²+c) for use in a course on chaos and fractals.

        Software FAQ's

AiM (Assessment in Mathematics)

  • AiM - my AiM home page

Software by my Students and Friends

  • Group Explorer - by Nathan Carter. This amazing program helps students (and faculty!) visualize finite groups.
  • AFFINE - an IFS program (DOS) by my former student, Mark Volchek. There is also his documentation available in Word format. If you want to install it on your computer you should download the whole package.
